Alex is a twenty-seven year old man who has slowly begun to realize that his life is going nowhere, with a dead end job, lack of romantic interest and a small room in the attic of his Mum and Dad's house. He is a stale echo of his younger self, repeating out until the fade...
So, naturally, an invitation to his tenth high school reunion does nothing to help his state of mind and he decides, in the drunken aftermath of the big night, to make some important changes to quit his job, to stop living for the weekend. But the world has other plans...
Reunion (part one) follows Alex in the three weeks following the collapse of civilization, as the dead rise and spread and take everything that made him who he was, as he finds out exactly what he is capable of in order to stay alive.

The story never really jelled for me - too much jumping around in the timeframe. We go from the first day of the outbreak to a few weeks later and back again (and again). Somewhere in the middle of jumping from now to then, we get some daily diary entries. I couldn't connect with any of the characters, other than Alex most characters were just names thrown in the story with no background about them, so you didn't really care about them. The story was nothing special - just run and hide from zombies and kill zombies. On the plus side, not very many spelling or grammar errors.Product details

Reunion part one edition by Gary Graham Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I was kind of iffy with this one; the blurb left me lukewarm, and there were no reviews. However, half of the free sample was enough, and I bought the book.
The story takes place in the UK, and starts just as the disease that causes death and reanimation reaches the tipping point. The narrative jumps back and forth between the first day and three weeks later.
The mechanical construction and editing are very good, the characters are well drawn, and the story moves right along. It's a very dark, despairing tale of the survivors just barely squeaking by as they're shepherded by a dedicated but steadily attriting group of squaddies.
The survivors must not only contend with the relentless onslaught of the undead hordes, but also the depredations of renegade armed security forces and the tensions and conflicts and clash of personalities in their own group.
As stated, this is part one, and as the story ends, things ain't looking good for the protagonists. I'll be very interested in seeing what the author does with part two.
So, this is worth a look - it's a good, solid four-star read. Give it a try.
The book was very well written. The zombies were believable and the characters were very normal. Everything was realistic and not over done. My only complaint was the way the book kept flashing back to what happened earlier. If it had just started at the beginning and progressed normally I feel it would have made for a better read. Either way the book was good over all and I look forward to reading the next one in the series.
